Kathy Tremblay nearly touches the podium in South Africa

The athlete from Gatineau, Quebec, with a chrono of 2h 03min 51 s, arrived 10 seconds behind the third place, the Swiss Magali Di Marco Messmer. It is the canadian Carolyn Murray that signed the victory with a time of 2h 03min 32s, three seconds in front of the Aussie Felicity Abram. The Quebecer put 18min 44 s to swim 1,5 kilometre, 1h 08 min to bike 40 km and 35min 28s to complete a 10 km run.

Raphael Gagné and Magali Tisseyre Wins 2008 Pentathlon des Neiges

Raphael Gagné of Lac Beauport won this last weekend’s fourth annual edition of the Pentathlon des Neiges, an event that combines 14km of cycling, 6km of running, 10km of freestyle cross-country skiing, 6km of snowshoeing and 9km of skating. Magali Tisseyre of Saint-Sauveur was the first woman across the finish at 1:56:18. Some 1,300 competitors raced in the event.

The COMPLEXE AQUATIQUE DE L’ÎLE SAINTE-HÉLÈNE

This past summer, the pools at the Complexe Aquatique of Île Sainte-Hélène welcomed 11,532 athletes from 69 major sports clubs located mostly in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. Apart from training sessions, the Complexe aquatique hosted 4,000 athletes in provincial, national and international competitions. These events were made possible thanks to the invaluable participation of some 1,740 volunteers and the steadfast encouragement of close to 15,000 spectators.
