With the Paris 2024 Games now over, the Fondation Nordiques has confirmed that it will be awarding a $5,000 bursary to six (6) athletes from the region who competed in the Olympic or Paralympic Games this summer.

Here are the recipients, who also received a regular $4,000 bursary last May. These student-athletes from the Quebec City and Chaudière-Appalaches region will receive a total of $9,000 from the Foundation in 2023-2024. To be eligible for these Olympic bursaries, candidates had to meet the Foundation’s usual eligibility criteria.

With this latest bursary award, the Fondation Nordiques completes its annual distribution, which this year reached the substantial sum of $400,000 in bursaries and donations. Since its inception, the Fondation Nordiques has distributed over $8,575,000 from its private funds to the community.

“We’re very proud to support these very deserving young student-athletes and to contribute to their success,” says Fondation Nordiques Executive Director Nicolas Labbé, who is already working on the next award ceremony, to be held in the spring of 2025.
