In spring 2020, the training courses for future coaches delivered by Triathlon Québec were all suspended. For a variety of reasons, both administrative and organizational, it was impossible to provide recognized and sufficiently comprehensive training in a non-presential context. As the practical part of the training was essential, Triathlon Québec simply couldn’t bypass or replace it. However, in the fall of 2020, the federation was very proud to create a training process adapted to current conditions. Since then, Triathlon Québec has been offering online theoretical training for future coaches.
Face-to-face training usually lasts 14-16 hours, with approximately 7-8 hours for theory and 7-8 hours for practice. In the case of online training, only the theory will be presented, so the whole thing will take only 7-8 hours. As for the practical part, it will take place over a further 8 hours, circumstances permitting.
The next online YOUTH (theoretical) community training event is scheduled :

Coaches who complete the theory course will be able to begin the coaching recognition process even if they have not completed the entire course. They will be deemed “in training” by Triathlon Québec, Triathlon Canada and the Coaching Association of Canada, and will enjoy the same rights and privileges as other coaches, provided they complete the practical training when it becomes available. Maximum deadlines for completion of practical training will be communicated in due course.
