Board members have primary responsibility for adopting and enforcing governance policies, regulations and practices that foster a culture of integrity, accountability and efficiency within the Federation.
Members of the Board of Directors
In his professional career, Charles Veilleux serves as Director of Finance and Administration at the law firm Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Throughout his career, he has also held positions with Disney, Bombardier, Quebecor World, Element Financial Corporation, and AECOM.
A passionate endurance athlete, Charles participates each year in a variety of events, including cycling races, half marathons, sprint triathlons, Olympic-distance triathlons, and IRONMAN 70.3 races.
Since 2018, Charles has served on the Board of Directors of Triathlon Québec, where he has held the role of Treasurer. He is also actively involved with the Triathlon Rive-Sud club as both an athlete and a volunteer, serving as President and Treasurer.
Charles played a key role in developing the club's junior program, which now welcomes approximately 50 young athletes. Through this initiative, he is committed to promoting the sport of triathlon while encouraging healthy lifestyles and, above all, ensuring that young participants have fun practicing this great sport.
Mélanie Bégin has developed a strong interest in triathlon since 2017. She has participated in several short-distance events (sprint and Olympic distance) as well as a few 70.3 races since then.
A graduate of Université Laval in Québec City, Mélanie holds a Bachelor of Laws (2008) and a Graduate Diploma in Notarial Law (2009). Since the beginning of her practice, she has had the opportunity to work with vulnerable individuals and families. She has also been involved with various community organizations, delivering presentations on topics such as caregiving, matrimonial regimes, estates, wills, and protection mandates.
Her passion for sport and her commitment to raising awareness among athletes of all levels make her a board member who is attentive to the needs of the community. Her professional background also allows her to understand and communicate key legal aspects relevant to the federation.
Georges Gay is co-founder of La Fabrique d'Athlètes Inc. and head coach of Club Élite Triathlon. A certified competition-level triathlon and track and field coach, he uses a rigorous scientific approach to optimize performance. He excels in technical and practical coaching in swimming, cycling and running, as well as in physical and strategic preparation for short- and long-distance competitions. With over 30 years' experience in management and strategic consulting for financial institutions, communications agencies and consulting firms, Georges has demonstrated his ability to take on complex mandates thanks to his leadership, vision and expertise in strategic planning, product development, marketing and public relations. Driven by a constant desire to innovate and progress, he is actively committed to raising the profile of triathlon in Quebec and beyond, and to contributing to its growth.
Isabelle Picard has been Director of Collège AQMAT since 2025, a continuing professional education center associated with the Association québécoise de la quincaillerie et des matériaux de construction. Here, she puts her passion for learning, training and talent development to good use. With over 20 years' experience in project management, team mobilization and event organization, she has worked in the cultural, health, retail and entrepreneurial sectors.
A passionate athlete, marathon runner and Ironwoman, she has taken part in numerous sporting events and fund-raising campaigns, raising over $65,000 for causes close to her heart. She also sits on a number of boards in the arts and sports, including Triathlon Québec, where she puts her energy, vision and commitment at the service of the community.
Jérémie Martin is a business lawyer, specializing in real estate law and bank financing. Thanks to his human and collaborative approach, he quickly establishes a climate of trust conducive to the success of the projects he accompanies. His dynamism, rigor and commitment to excellence are at the heart of his practice. A former elite triathlete and representative of the Rouge et Or athletes at Université Laval, Jérémie has been able to transpose the qualities he acquired while practicing his high-level sport into his professional career: discipline, commitment and determination. His knowledge of the sporting world, combined with his legal expertise, make him a valuable asset to Triathlon Québec's Board of Directors, which he joins in 2025 as Secretary.
Christian Fontaine, Director of Engineering at Law Marot Milpro, has over 20 years' experience in the field. He has held various positions, including department head and project manager. Under his leadership, the design and R&D department has been structured and its efficiency considerably improved. A triathlon enthusiast since the age of 15, he has taken part in over 90 triathlons/duathlons and more than 50 running competitions. He has also competed in the age-group World Cups in Chicago 2015, Ibiza 2023, Malaga 2024 and will take part in Wollongong 2025. As coach of the Trizone Triathlon Club since 2010, he has demonstrated outstanding leadership and management skills. He also launched the Triforce Triathlon Club in autumn 2024, highlighting his passion for triathlon and his commitment to the development of the sporting community.
Former elite swimmer, Sarah-Lee Hevey is driven by self-improvement and athletic performance. Her passion for sport led her to triathlon, where she has competed in World Triathlon circuit events around the world as well as Ironman races as an age-group athlete.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in science and a master’s degree in education. Her professional background includes seven years as a secondary school mathematics and science teacher, where she developed strong expertise in pedagogy and skills development. She later completed an MBA at HEC Montréal to combine her analytical strengths with her management aspirations.
Today, as a project manager in a sports context, Sarah-Lee brings strategic vision and engaging leadership. Actively involved in her community, she also serves on her alma mater’s alumni council. By joining the Triathlon Québec Board of Directors, she aims to contribute to the development of the sport, support clubs, and inspire the next generation of triathletes in Quebec.
