In a continuing effort to promote inclusion and equity within our community, Triathlon Quebec is proud to announce the introduction of an open age-group category for everyone, effective for the 2025 season.
This initiative is part of our commitment to creating an environment where everyone, regardless of identity or background, is welcomed, respected and encouraged to participate fully in our sport. We firmly believe in the importance of recognizing differences and removing barriers to participation to foster a more inclusive culture representative of diversity.
This new category is in line with World Triathlon’s revised rules, which introduce an open category in all international and continental age-group competitions. It will replace the current men’s category and will be open to all, including transgender athletes (male and female), with no medical or legal criteria required.
We believe that this evolution will contribute to making our sport more accessible, more respectful and more faithful to the values we collectively uphold.
If you have any questions about the open category, please do not hesitate to contact our team.
Together towards a more inclusive sport.
